Southeast Asia's addiction for single-use plactic became an epidemic that greatly impacted the ocean's health, corals, marine life, and finally contributed to climate change. Not solely will plastic pollution directly impact ocean life, but also its production releases billions of kgs of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere each year.
Despite the obvious advantages of recycling – PET is the most recycled plastic in the world. Too much of it is still not recycled and leaks into our environment. In fact, 54% of the PET bottles sold in Southeast Asia cities and are collected-for-recycling. While, other 46% of it stays in landfills and leaks into the ocean. OZONE team are committed to step up and with our ambitious goals to promote sustainable living and reduce consumption of single-use plastic bottles in Southeast Asia.
